Accessing Physiotherapy with Your DVA Card

Entitled DVA clients may be referred for physiotherapy treatment by their general practitioner (GP) using a valid D904 referral form. Gold and White Card Holders are eligible for physiotherapy care under DVA’s health care arrangements.

  • DVA Gold Card holders can access treatment for all health conditions.
  • DVA White Card holders can receive treatment for approved service-related conditions.

Your DVA Gold or White Card is accepted as payment for physiotherapy services upon a valid GP referral.

Veterans Physiotherapy (DVA) - Frequently Asked Questions

At Adaptive Physiotherapy & Massage, Booragoon

Do you provide physiotherapy services for veterans under DVA?

Yes — Adaptive Physiotherapy & Massage is proud to support DVA clients. If you hold a DVA Gold or White Card and have a valid referral from your GP, you may be eligible for fully funded physiotherapy services at our Booragoon clinic.

What is covered under DVA physiotherapy?

DVA covers the full cost of physiotherapy sessions when treatment is related to your accepted condition. You won’t have to pay out of pocket. This includes hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, mobility work, and education tailored to your needs.

What types of conditions do you treat under DVA?

We commonly treat musculoskeletal conditions such as:

  • Chronic back and neck pain

  • Joint issues (e.g. knees, hips, shoulders)

  • Arthritis and mobility concerns

  • Injury rehabilitation

  • Post-surgical recovery
We also help improve general strength, balance, and function to support independent living and quality of life.

Do I need a referral to access DVA physiotherapy?

Yes — you’ll need a valid referral from your GP (usually on a D904 form) to access DVA-funded physiotherapy. Your referral can last up to 12 sessions or 12 months, depending on your needs. We’re happy to assist you or your GP with the paperwork if needed.

Can I choose which physiotherapist I see?

Absolutely. At our Booragoon clinic, you’ll be matched with one of our experienced physiotherapists who will tailor your treatment plan to suit your goals, lifestyle, and health conditions. You’ll also have continuity of care — seeing the same therapist each visit whenever possible.

Do you provide exercise programs for veterans?

Yes — we often integrate targeted exercise and movement plans to help improve strength, stability, and function. These programs are adapted to your physical capacity and designed to help you regain confidence in daily movement or return to activities you enjoy.

Is your clinic accessible for older veterans or those with mobility issues?

Yes — our Booragoon facility is fully accessible, with convenient parking, ground floor entry, and a welcoming environment. We also offer supportive equipment and personalised care to ensure comfort during every visit.

How do I book my first DVA physiotherapy session?

Once you have a GP referral, simply contact our team to schedule your initial appointment. We’ll take care of the rest — including verifying your DVA details and setting up your care plan.
